How will Arsenal and Everton fare in Europa League action?

Published:
Arsene Wenger

It was an eventful evening around the Emirates Stadium when Koln came to town a few weeks ago. Their fans packed out the ground, though Arsenal ran out comfortable winners on the pitch.

Everton didn’t do so well against Atalanta. They were awful on the night and lost 3-0 in Italy.

Both sides are in action again on Thursday evening.

Arsenal are away to BATE Borisov in the early kick-off. And Everton host Apollon Limassol at 20:05.

Here’s how we think they’ll get on…

BATE Borisov v Arsenal

Arsenal have left several first-team players in London for their trip to Belarus. But they should still have too much quality for BATE Borisov.

Arsene Wenger’s side are odds on at 4/9. BATE are 6/1, while the draw is at 17/5.

The Gunners have a very crowded schedule this week, which means Jack Wilshere, Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott are in line for rare starts this season.

Those three, as well as the likes of Per Mertesacker and Rob Holding, will want to stake a claim for more regular action by impressing at the Borisov Arena.

Giroud is chasing his 100th Arsenal goal and the striker is 5/1 as First Goalscorer.

BATE thumped FC Slutsk 6-0 in their last outing but they’re up against much stronger opposition here.

Our traders can’t see beyond an Arsenal win but there could be value in Arsenal to win and Both Teams to Score at 2/1.

Everton v Apollon Limassol

Everton need three points against Apollon after their disastrous display against Atalanta.

The Toffees have won their last two games and our traders fancy them to get the job done at Goodison Park at 2/7.

Appollon are up against it at 6/1 and the draw is 17/5.

The Cypriot side have only won one of their last five in all competitions.

This could be the game where Everton’s attack starts to fire properly. You can get Everton and Over 3.5 Goals for 15/8.

Summer signing Sandro Ramirez hasn’t scored in league action yet. He could fare better in European competition.

Sandro is Evens to score Anytime.

Ronald Koeman’s team face Burnley at home this weekend. They’ll fancy their chances of winning both of their fixtures this week.
