Glasgow punter puts £40k on Canelo to beat Golovkin

A Ladbrokes customer in Glasgow could win £90k if Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez beats Gennady Golovkin this weekend.
Canelo is the slight outsider for the fight. But one punter is so confident that the Mexican will win in Vegas they put £40k on him at 5/4 earlier this month.
Golovkin will be defending his WBA, WBC and IBF titles in Vegas. The Kazakh fighter is undefeated in his professional career and has won 33 of his 37 fights by knockout.
Most punters are backing Golovkin to get a 38th straight victory at 4/6.
In the Round Betting market, Golovkin to win in Round 9 is the most common selection at 18/1.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Triple G may be proving popular, but so far the big money has gone on Canelo and one punter in particular could be celebrating a cool £90k win this weekend if the Mexican puts an end to his opponent’s unbeaten streak.”
