Debbie McGee into 6/1 for Strictly crown as Brian Conley struggles

Debbie McGee has been slashed into 6/1 from 20/1 to win Strictly Come Dancing after a magical performance in week one.

The 58-year-old proved she still has a trick up her sleeve by producing a steamy rendition of the Paso Doble on Saturday evening.

Considered a rank outsider at the start of the show, McGee is now third favourite to waltz away with the crown.

Aston Merrygold remains the man to beat after his odds were cut from 3/1 into 5/2 to claim the Glitterball Trophy.

Meanwhile, Hallelujah singer Alexandra Burke showed she doesn’t need a miracle and is now 5/1 second favourite.

Early fancy Mollie King has drifted to 7/1, while Gemma Atkinson and Davood Ghadami are 9/1 and 10/1 respectively.

For some of the early competitors though, it’s all about avoiding the slow dance towards the exit.

That’s certainly the case for Brain Conley, who has emerged as the 2/1 favourite to be the first act eliminated.

He’s followed by Simon Rimmer at 5/2 and Rev. Richard Coles, who is 6/1 to say his final prayers on the dancefloor.
