He may not be in the squad for Chelsea’s visit to Atletico Madrid on Wednesday night, but our trading team still think Diego Costa could make the headlines.
A return to the Spanish capital looks almost certain for the player, with our odds-crunchers having suspended betting on the move some time back.
But he can be backed at 2/1 to rub salt in the wound by being spotted at the game in an Atletico kit.
Costa was in attendance for Saturday’s 2-0 defeat of Sevilla, and is widely expected to be in the stands again for the Blues’ Champions League visit.
Having already been spotted in Los Colchoneros’ colours during his time on Chelsea’s books, he could well fan the flames by doing so again as the sides face off in Spain.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “We saw Costa in an Atletico shirt back in the summer, and the latest odds suggest there’s every chance he dons it once again in the Spanish capital when his current employers visit the Wanda Metropolitano.”
