Bradford v Bristol Rovers: Goalfest on the cards at Valley Parade
Bradford City host Bristol Rovers on Saturday lunchtime, and based on the pair’s recent results and past meetings, this promises to be an absolute cracker.
Each of the previous six clashes between these clubs have seen both sides find the net. That means we like the look of Both Teams to Score at 7/10.
However, more ambitious punters could be rewarded by backing Over 3.5 Goals at odds of 9/4. The Gas have netted eight goals in their previous two games, while the Bantams are just behind with seven.
That’s strengthened by the fact that three of the past six meetings have produced four or more goals.
We fancy the bulk of the strikes to come after the interval. Bradford have scored in the second period in five of their six games this season, and the same for Rovers. Both Teams to Score in the 2nd Half is available at 2/1.
So, who are we tipping up for goalscoring glory?
Bradford’s powerful forward Dominic Poleon has found the net in three of his last four outings. He’s 19/10 to add to that tally against the South-West outfit.
But it’s Rovers’ Billy Bodin who looks to represent the best value. He’s in a rich vein of form lately, registering six times in seven games. That’s included recent braces against Cambridge United and Bury.
We like the 8/1 for Bodin to score two or more goals, while the 5/1 for the Swindon native to open the scoring for the sixth time in 2017 could prove popular.
The 25-year-old has been a key part of their recent success, with Darrell Clarke’s men winning their last four games in all competitions, including victory away at Championship Fulham in the Carabao Cup.
That makes them Bristol Rovers more appealing option in the match betting at 19/10, with Bradford 11/8 and the draw priced up at 12/5.
However, with goals seemingly a given, it’s the 9/2 for Rovers to Win and Both Teams to Score which should be backed.
