Why we’re excited about Watford’s Brazilian target, Richarlison

Watford’s now imminent capture of £13m striker Richarlison from Fluminese has raised eyebrows across the Premier League.
The 20-year-old star is set to join Watford on a five-year deal from the Brazilian club and as usual, excitement abounds over what the youngster is capable of.
Here’s what excites us about the Brazil international’s move to Vicarage Road…
His individual flair
Pure and simple, the man is talented.
He was named in the Campeonato Carioca Team of the Year last season and hit nine goals in 42 games for Fluminese.
This season he has five goals and three assists to his name for Flu, who sit 13th in Brasileiro Serie A.
His quick footwork and flair has already bamboozled plenty of defences in South America and he should have no problem transferring that to the Premier League.
Brazilians in the Premier League
In total 64 of the Samba boys have plied their trade in England since the Premier League’s inception in 1992.
And it’s fair to say some have been better than others.
Emerson, Elano and Edu – check.
Kleberson, Alfonso Alves and Jo on the other hand are best left to one side.
Watford fans will be hoping this single-named South American (the best variety, obviously) will turn out to be more Juninho than Mario Jardel.
He’s already starring for Brazil
Ok, fine, you got us, it’s the Brazil U20 side, but he’s lit the national team up nonetheless.
In 10 appearances for his country, Richarlison has scored three goals, including against Argentina at the start of the year.
He made his debut for the Green and Yellow back in 2016, scoring against England in a 1-1 draw.
Two players he’s set to come up against this season, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Ademola Lookman, also featured in that match.
