Slaven Bilic may be the first managerial casualty of the Premier League season, according to rumours swirling in East London.

West Ham United owners, David Gold and David Sullivan, are reportedly none-too-pleased with how the club has started the season under the Croatian.

It’s still very much early doors but two games into the 2017-18 campaign and the Hammers are rooted to the foot of the table.

A terrible 4-0 defeat at Manchester United was followed up by an agonising 3-2 defeat against Southampton. Bilic’s side battled gamely back to 2-2 before succumbing to a 93rd-minute winner by Saints’ striker, Charlie Austin.

The performance at St. Mary’s will have given the former Besiktas coach a glimmer of hope they can get their season back on track. It must happen quickly, though, with Gold and Sullivan infamous for having an itchy trigger finger.

The former Birmingham City owners have invested substantially in player recruitment over the summer with big money spent on the likes of Javier Hernandez. Joe Hart, and Marko Arnautovic.

After a poor campaign the previous season, the pair put their faith in Bilic to turn it around but that may be waning fast according to reports in the East End.

No prospective replacements have been leaked as yet, but a defeat at Cheltenham in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night might just expedite the process.

Waters could be about to get quite choppy at the London Stadium.
