Mayweather v McGregor: Best of Twitter ahead of the big fight
Published:We’re smack-bang in the middle of fight week, just a handful of days out from Floyd Mayweather Jr v Conor McGregor. And we’re getting pretty excited.
It’s not just us with our knickers in a twist, though. The entire world is giddy in anticipation of what is sure to be one of the most talked-about spectacles of the sporting calendar.
Nothing encapsulates that more than the melting pot of Twitter. The Social Media network is awash with pre-fight hype, with more than enough from the fighters themselves!
We’ve picked out some of the best build-up…
The odds on McGregor winning have been dropping like a stone since the fight was announced.
The Dubliner is now just 3/1 and with brash overtones like this, maybe he’s worth a pop?

Mayweather doesn’t seem too bothered about the whole thing, though. Is he taking this seriously enough? At 1/4 to win, we certainly hope so.

McGregor’s long-time coach, John Kavanagh, reckons his man has the juice to steamroller the undefeated American.

The boxing world has not looked favourably upon this match-up. HBO Boxing commentator Max Kellerman has poured scorn on McGregor’s chances from the get-go.

Boxing legend Lennox Lewis also doesn’t have much time for the whole thing.
I don’t look at this like a fight between two top level fighters of the same discipline. Its more of a spectacle or event. https://t.co/dE4FaKrs9b

Fellow heavyweight David Haye thinks Mayweather could be taking a huge risk in taking on the MMA icon.

Who wins, though? Well, predictably enough, ‘Mystic Mac’ reckons it’s going to be a quick stoppage.

Whatever you do, just don’t ask McGregor’s former sparring partner Paulie Malignaggi what he thinks…

Is Conor kidding himself? Or will he pull off one of the greatest shocks in sports history?
