Manchester United are ready to turn their sights to Tottenham Hotspur’s Danny Rose after being frustrated in their efforts to sign a wide player so far this summer.

Jose Mourinho intends to play with a back three more often this season and he could now look to bring in a wing-back rather than a winger, with Rose reportedly seen as the ideal candidate on the left.

Our traders have the England international at 8/1 to move to Old Trafford before the transfer window closes.

United have been unable to agree a fee with Inter Milan for Ivan Perisic, and a bid for Gareth Bale would depend on Real Madrid bringing in Kylian Mbappe from Monaco.

If they can’t make any progress in their efforts to sign either Perisic or Bale, the Red Devils plan to turn their attention to Rose.

Inter are also understood to be interested in the 27-year-old, while United’s rivals Manchester City are 9/2 to make him their fourth full-back signing of the summer.

He was named in the PFA Team of the Year for both of the last two seasons and Tottenham are determined to hold onto one of their key players.

Rose is still recovering from a knee injury that has ruled him out of action since January, but which team will he be lining up for when he returns?
