Man City odds-on to be top North-West club in Premier League

Man City betting news

If our odds-crunchers are correct, Manchester City fans will be very pleased indeed. That’s because the Citizens are clear favourites at odds-on to be the top North-West club in the Premier League for the fifth season in succession.

Pep Guardiola’s men finished last season in third spot with 78 points, two ahead of Liverpool, who secured Champions League football for the first time since 2014.

That’s seen City installed at the head of the betting to be kings of the region this term, with 4/5 on offer for the four-time English champions to rule the North-West for yet another campaign.

However, despite the Anfield outfit being their closest challengers last term, it’s big-spending Manchester United who are second in this market at 7/4.

Jose Mourinho has added the likes of Victor Lindelof, Nemanja Matic and Romelu Lukaku to his ranks this summer – and having won two trophies last term, many are tipping the Red Devils to be strong in the league this year.

Liverpool’s inaction in this transfer window, and the possible loss of star man Philippe Coutinho has seen them placed as 11/2 outsiders in this market.

They also haven’t finished as the top North-West club since way back in 2002. To give some context, that’s the same year Will Young and Gareth Gates went head-to-head in Pop Idol…

The Reds are followed by city rivals Everton at 50/1, with Sean Dyche’s Burnley needing a heftily-sized miracle if they’re to come good on odds of 300/1.
