Hull FC v Wigan Warriors: Wane’s men set for famous Wembley win

They’ve lifted this trophy a record 19 times to date. And we think it’ll be number 20 for Wigan Warriors on Saturday, when they face current holders Hull FC in the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup Final at Wembley.

Shaun Wane’s men have won six of their last eight games, including a 42-6 hammering of Salford Red Devils last time out. For their part, the Airlie Birds head into this game on the back of a heavy loss to Huddersfield Giants, in which they shipped 46 points.

We fancy Wigan to lift the trophy at odds of 4/5, with Hull even-money to retain the cup. However, a closer look at the Warriors’ stats suggest the best value lies elsewhere.

Each of the Warriors’ last six wins have come by a 10+ point margin, so we like the look of Wigan to Win by 10 or More Points. Luckily for punters, that’s one of our enhanced specials, with our traders pushing the price out from 15/8 to 12/5.

The North-West club have also built up a reputation as comeback kings this season. Time and time again, they’ve come from behind to win in 2017. That includes their Semi-Final defeat of Salford Red Devils, a game Wigan were 14-12 down in at the interval.

That means the 13/2 for Wigan to trail at half-time and win looks very generous.

Winger Liam Marshall has notched up 23 tries for the Cherry & Whites this season, including three in his last two meetings with Hull. He’s 11/8 in the Anytime Tryscorer market, but it’s the 7/1 for Marshall to bag two or more tries which could deliver the best value.

As for Hull, it’s hard to look past Australian ace Albert Kelly. 18 tries in Super League this term make him a solid bet – also at 11/8 – to notch up a try at Wembley.

Finally, with the last two meetings between this pair producing 66 and 42 points respectively, we like the look of 10/11 for Over 41.5 Points to be scored.
