Liverpool fans have been waiting over 25 years for their team to be crowned league champions again. Is this finally going to be their year?

After securing a top-four finish last season, Jurgen Klopp will have wanted to retain his best talent and add extra depth and quality to prepare his squad for the Champions League.

They’ve made a number of smart signings this summer – Mohamed Salah on the opposite flank to Sadio Mane will terrify defences, Andrew Robertson offers attacking thrust from left-back and Dominic Solanke is an exciting prospect up front.

Despite that, the key to their season could be keeping hold of Philippe Coutinho.

The brilliant Brazilian scored 13 goals and registered seven assists in league action last term and Barcelona are reportedly ready to spend up to £109m to bring him to Spain.

Liverpool have defensive problems, but if they keep Coutinho, the speed and energy of their attacking play can trouble any side.

Should he leave, they’ll have the tough task of finding a replacement while still trying to address their other weaknesses.

Our traders have them at 12/1 to win the league, level with Arsenal, but behind Manchester City, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United.

Liverpool have lost the Europa League and League Cup finals under Klopp, but with such fierce competition for the league, a cup could be their best chance of silverware.

They’re currently 25/1 to win the Champions League, though they’ll need to beat Hoffenheim in a play-off first to reach the group stage.

Klopp’s side are 9/1 to win the FA Cup and 10/1 to win the Carabao Cup.

Think they can do the domestic cup double? They’re priced at 40/1 to lift the FA and Carabao Cups at Wembley.
