Crystal Palace covet Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Vorm

Crystal Palace have long had issues in the goalkeeping department, with Wayne Hennessey and Steve Mandanda both having failed to live up to expectations in recent years.

But that could be about to change with Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Michael Vorm now just 15/8 to join the Eagles.

And with Spurs having signed second-string stopper Paulo Gazzaniga from Southampton just this week a move for Vorm looks very much on.

The Dutchman joined Spurs in 2014 but due to the impressive form of French number one Hugo Lloris, has not featured as much as he would have liked in North London.

In-fact, in three years with the Wembley club Vorm has only made 10 league appearances.

Now in the twilight of his career, the 6ft stopper will be eager to build on a reputation that saw him coveted so highly at Swansea City.

With the World Cup in Russia just around the corner who knows where Vorm’s ambitions lie?

Palace boss Frank de Boer knows where his ambitions lie, though, and a strong first-choice goalkeeper is required at Selhurst Park if the Eagles want to avoid another relegation scrap.

The 33-year-old should be available for a cut-price fee too, which will certainly interest the Eagles hierarchy.
