Belotti back on the cards for Conte? Chelsea line up Torino ace

Published:

All is not well at Chelsea, and boss Antonio Conte faces a huge two weeks to put things right at Stamford Bridge.

And according to the latest reports, Torino’s Andrea Belotti is one of Conte’s solutions.

Our traders have slapped a 3/1 price on the Italian heading to Stamford Bridge this summer.

The 23-year-old Belotti bagged a sensational 26 goals in Serie A last season, and is touted as one of Italy’s top strikers in the years to come.

And with a physical presence and nature for hustling defenders, the Torino ace boasts similar attributes to Diego Costa.

The Spaniard has fallen out with both Conte and Chelsea as he seeks a move away from the Premier League champions.

He’s been ordered to return to the club after going to his native Brazil, but the forward’s Chelsea career is over.

Conte initially courted Romelu Lukaku to succeed Costa up front this season, but had to move on to Alvaro Morata once Manchester United gazumped the Blues to the Belgian.

Talented though Morata is, he doesn’t possess Costa’s qualities which were so key to Chelsea’s success last season.

But Belotti does, and that’s just one of the many reasons Torino have slapped a hefty release clause on the striker, believed to be around £88m.

It remains to be seen if Torino would sell their star man with a fortnight of the summer window remaining, but equally Chelsea are running out of time to fix their squad.

The Blues’ title defence got off to the worst possible start last weekend as they lost 3-2 at home to Burnley, with Gary Cahill and Cesc Fabregas both sent off.
