Arsenal v Chelsea: Blues can gain revenge at Wembley

Published:

It’s been a long, long summer but English football’s elite are back. Sunday’s FA Community Shield sees Arsenal clash with Chelsea at Wembley and we cannot wait.

The traditional curtain raiser to the Premier League season, both sides will be looking to win this – make no mistake about it.

Chelsea, in particular, will be looking to gain revenge for last season’s defeat to the same opposition in the FA Cup Final. At 23/20, they look a little short but still well-backable.

At 11/5 Arsenal look the value bet considering they’ve won the last time the two sides met at Wembley but a possible back three of Nacho Monreal,  Laurent Koscielny and Rob Holding does not inspire confidence.

Chelsea are missing two big absentees, too, though, with both Eden Hazard and Tiemoue Bakayoko still out through injury.

Antonio Rudiger and Alvaro Morata will likely make their debut with the latter 4/1 to be First Goalscorer and 7/5 to score Anytime.

If you fancy a Gunner to open the scoring, Alexandre Lacazette looks a pretty big 11/2.

Six of the last ten Shield Finals have gone Over 2.5 goals and we like the look of that at 3/4, while Both Teams To Score has landed in another six.

Chelsea have a seriously good head-to-head record over the last 15 games with their London rivals, though, winning eight of those.

Combine the Chelsea win and Over 2.5 Goals and 9/4 looks a lovely price indeed.
