Antonio Conte favourite to be gone before start of next season
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is the most likely Big Six boss to not be in charge of his current club this time next year, our odds suggest.
The Italian gaffer’s Chelsea side head into this campaign as reigning champions, but we go as low as Evens that he’s not in the dugout at Stamford Bridge on the opening day of the 2018-19 season.
There’s pressure on Arsene Wenger too.
Despite the Frenchman only having signed a new two-year-contract in May, his tenure at the Emirates already looks under threat.
Our traders have priced the veteran Gunners chief at 7/4 to not be managing Arsenal in a year’s time.
Meanwhile, up in the North-West it’s Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho who is under the most pressure this season.
The ex-Chelsea boss is priced at 7/2 to leave Old Trafford before the start of his contracted third year in charge.
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is 9/2 to follow Mourinho out of the exit door and lead an exodus from the M6.
And what about Liverpool supremo Jurgen Klopp?
The German may start cutting a frustrated figure if any more of his star players quit the Anfield club.
With Philippe Coutinho today reportedly handing in a transfer request on Merseyside, Klopp’s 9/2 odds to take a ferry down the Mersey before the start of the 2017-18 season certainly make appeal.
A spokesperson from Ladbrokes said: “A ball hasn’t even been kicked this season, and we’re already rating the chances of the top six bosses in the league sticking around. The early signs are that Conte, Wenger and Mourinho will be under huge pressure to win the title though.”
