Vroom Froome – Brit Now Hot Favourite For Tour De France Title

Published:

After nine days of racing, three-time Tour De France winner, Chris Froome, is wearing the now familiar yellow jersey.

The British cyclist is now the 1/3 odds-on favourite to win a fourth crown for Team Sky with Fabio Aru second favourite at a juicy 4/1.

With the likes of Richie Porte, Geraint Thomas and Robert Gesink all crashing out already, taking on Froome at such low odds might just prove a clever market move, though, as the Tour is notorious for claiming victims at any given time.

Astana’s Aru has only ever won one individual stage tour before so backing the Italian might not be for everyone.

Romain Bardet was second overall in last year’s Tour and at plump odds of 12/1 he might be a much more prudent pick.

After a day off to rest and regenerate tired limbs, the Tour recommences in Périgueux with a 178 km jaunt ahead of the riders.

This particular stage will favour the sprinters among the pack which is exactly why Germany’s Marcel Kittel is 4/7 favourite to win.

The sprint king will be looking to add a 12th stage win to his belt when they arrive in Bergerac.
