Rooney backed into Evens for WC 2018 spot (+ Everton specials)

Wayne Rooney odds

Our punters are firmly of the opinion that Wayne Rooney’s return to Everton will see the 31-year-old make the cut in England’s World Cup 2018 squad. That’s backed up by the fact that the odds on Wazza making it to Russia next summer have come into even-money from 4/1.

The Three Lions’ record goalscorer hasn’t made the squad for any of the last five games under Gareth Southgate. But the bets have flooded in for the Toffees’ signing to make the plane.

Elsewhere, our odds-crunchers have priced up a flurry of other specials following the striker’s return to Goodison Park.

They make it just 8/11 for Wazza to net 9+ goals in the Premier League next term, with 5/2 about the Croxteth native lifting any major trophy for the Merseyside outfit.

Meanwhile, it’s a 15/8 shot for the striker to net against Liverpool anytime in 2017-18, having done just that on six occasions – including grabbing the winner at Anfield in January of last year.

There’s also 2/1 available for Rooney to haunt the Red Devils by chalking up a first career goal against the club where he enjoyed 13 trophy-laden years.

However, with the forward having picked up six career red cards, the 33/1 for him to see red against United next term could prove a popular bet.

Finally, there’s 66/1 on offer for a Rooney resurgence to lead to a PFA Players’ Player of the Year award in the coming campaign.
