The F1 season gathers pace with back-to-back European races as the paddock quickly makes the trip from Austria to Silverstone for the British Grand Prix.

Much of the build-up has focused on the race’s future, with 2019 now due to be the last event held here after a break clause was activated.

Lewis Hamilton’s absence from a London Live demo on Wednesday is also making headlines, but here are three markets to take a look at when the action starts on track.

Hamilton to win the race @ 10/11

Hamilton was criticised for being the only driver not to attend the London demo on Wednesday evening, but he will still arrive at Silverstone with the support of his home crowd behind him having won the last three races on the trot here.

Mercedes is under more pressure than in any of the previous three years, and Valtteri Bottas is in good form, but Silverstone often brings the best out of Hamilton and he will be determined to get his title bid back on track.

Verstappen on the podium @ 5/2

Red Bull has been making clear progress in recent races but Max Verstappen has faced a very challenging run of results having retired from five of the past seven rounds.

The teenager has been driving well but luck hasn’t been on his side, and he is growing more frustrated with each passing race.

Silverstone was the scene of a very strong drive from Verstappen in 2016, however, and with no championship battle to concern himself with the Dutchman is likely to be on maximum attack.

Palmer in the points @ 11/2

By now you’ve probably learned we like an outside bet, so here’s some patriotism for the British Grand Prix weekend.

Jolyon Palmer has yet to score a point this season and has struggled on the whole, while it’s unlikely the Silverstone circuit will prove a particularly strong one for his Renault team.

But the Briton had a strong race in Austria, beating team-mate Nico Hulkenberg and missing out on the top ten by less than a second. So there’s a chance…
