Odds suspended on moves for Barcelona, Chelsea & Arsenal stars

This summer’s slew of blockbuster transfers is showing no sign of letting up, with our trading team suspending betting on three more huge deals this morning – two of them involving Premier League sides.

However, the biggest deal of the bunch – financially, at least – is Neymar leaving Barcelona to join Paris Saint-Germain.

The Brazilian scored 20 times in 45 games for Blaugrana last term, but now looks set to end his four-year stint in La Liga with a move likely to make him the most expensive player of all time.

Elsewhere, our odds-crunchers have closed the book on Nemanja Matic swapping Chelsea for Manchester United and reuniting with former Blues boss Jose Mourinho in the process.

It’s a saga which has rumbled on throughout the window, but now a deal looks to have been struck, with the 28-year-old having been 5/4 to head to M16 this summer before the book was closed overnight.

Across London, Arsenal are also set to sell off one of their longest-serving players in the form of Kieran Gibbs, with betting suspended on his move to Watford.

After 10 seasons and 229 games for the Gunners, he now looks certain to leave his boyhood club to join Marco Silva’s Hornets revolution.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “This could be a very expensive summer for clubs across Europe as far as we’re concerned, with even more records set to be smashed in the coming weeks.”
