Odds suggest Arsenal not fancied to derail Madrid’s striker bid

The Sunday Mirror are reporting that Arsenal could make a world record £125m bid for Monaco sensation Kylian Mbappe but our odds-compilers still fancy the teenager to opt for La Liga over North London.

Real Madrid remain the 11/10 favourites to secure the 18-year-old’s signature with the Gunners priced up at 7/2.

According to the newspaper, boss Arsene Wenger has held conversations with Mbappe’s father, Wilfried.

The Frenchman is hoping his Gallic connections will hold sway and that he’ll be able to persuade one of the continent’s hottest properties that his immediate future lies at the Emirates and not with the Spanish giants.

However, the odds suggest that Wenger and co. are some way off scuppering Los Blancos’ best-laid plans.

Meanwhile, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain are joint-third in the betting at 10/1 apiece with Liverpool (14/1), Manchester United (20/1), Barcelona (25/1) and Chelsea (25/1) looking even more unlikely to get a deal done.
