Odds slashed on Murray winning Wimbledon – but Konta on the drift

Andy Murray’s Wimbledon odds have come crashing down as he prepares for a quarter-final showdown with Sam Querrey.
The world number one had spent the opening week at SW19 as 11/2 fourth favourite.
But after Rafael Nadal went out of the tournament last night, in a five-set classic with Gilles Muller, Murray is now a 10/3 shot.
The two-time Wimbledon champion has dismissed all pre-tournament concerns regarding his form and a hip injury, dropping just one set so far.
Murray was clinical is disposing of Frenchman Benoit Paire in the fourth round on Monday, going through 7-6 6-4 6-4.
And now the Scot will be confident of reaching the last four, especially as he boasts a 7-1 record over Querrey.
This is the American’s second successive appearance at the Wimbledon quarter-finals, but his sole win over Murray came seven years ago.
And Murray now knows that he has a Nadal-free path to the final.
And there’s been plenty of change in the Ladies’ outright odds too, although it’s not good news for Johanna Konta.
The Brit had spent the last few days as 9/2 favourite, but Konta is now out at 11/2.
That’s because she has to overcome world number two Simona Halep in the quarter-finals.
Konta has been replaced at the top of the betting by 2016 French Open champion Garbine Muguruza, whose odds have been slashed after she defeated world number one Angelique Kerber in the fourth round.
The Spaniard is now 4/1 favourite to win her second Slam, ahead of American Coco Vanderweghe (9/2) and Halep (5/1).
