Murray shorter price for Week One exit than Wimbledon glory

Andy Murray has endured a poor first half of 2017, and our odds-crunchers think things could go from bad to worse for the 30-year-old at Wimbledon this month.

In fact, Muzza is just 4/1 to be sent packing in the first week of the famous tournament – a shorter price than the 6/1 for him to win a third title in SW19.

He’s certainly been far from his best of late, exiting the Australian Open in the Fourth Round this year, at the hands of world number 30 Mischa Zverev, before Stan Wawrinka bested him at Roland Garros.

However, an opening-week exit on home soil would surely be the lowest point of the Briton’s 2017…if it comes to that.

Meanwhile, fellow Brit Johanna Konta is a 9/1 shot to win the Ladies’ tournament, and so far at least, she’s proved more popular with punters than Murray.

However, patriotic supporters who fancy the pair to each enjoy Wimbledon success can get odds of 10/1 for Murray and Konta both to reach their respective finals.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Punters have clearly turned their back on Muzza in recent weeks, with plenty looking to cash in on the Scot’s struggles.”
