Man United now joint-second favourites to land rivals’ outcast

Published:

The odds have been cut on Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart making a sensational cross-town move to his employer’s biggest rivals.

It’s now just 3/1 (from 4/1) for the Etihad outcast to seal a sensational move to Manchester United this summer, making the Red Devils joint-second favourites to secure his signature.

West Ham United still lead the way at 5/2. But with the Sunday Express claiming that City boss Pep Guardiola has given his blessing for Hart to join United our odds-compilers have reacted accordingly.

The Hammers’ interest in the England shot-stopper has cooled in recent weeks with wage demands and the £25m asking price making the London club reluctant to take talks any further.

However, money would surely be no problem for the Old Trafford outfit and they could well be in need of a new number one given the Express revelations that current incumbent David de Gea has sold his Cheshire house ahead of a move to Real Madrid.

The 71-capped Hart would certainly fit the bill but a move to United looks far from a foregone conclusion.

Newcastle United are also 3/1 to nab the City outcast with Liverpool (6/1) and Chelsea (8/1) two other appealing destinations.

Meanwhile, having spent a season on-loan at Torino, we go 10/1 that the Shrewsbury native opts to head back to Italy and join AC Milan.

Would a move to Old Trafford make sense for all parties?
