Winter is coming… so said Ned Stark, and it certainly can’t be far away now as the penultimate season of Game of Thrones arrives this weekend.

The acclaimed HBO show makes its long-awaited return for season seven, and with it comes a whole host of questions.

How long will Cersei hang on to the Iron Throne in Westeros? When will Daenerys reach King’s Landing? When will Jon Snow find out who he really is? How quickly can Samwell Tarly get through all those books? When will the White Walkers reach the wall? And just where is Gendry?

We’ll find out all of that – hopefully – and much more in the weeks to come, but for now, let’s get down to the serious questions – and odds.

Who will die first in season seven?

Our odds suggest things aren’t looking good for the Sand Snakes, with 6/4 on offer for any Oberyn Martell’s eight daughters to be killed off first.

But in terms of individuals, then it could be curtains for Yara Greyjoy at 4/1.

Early clips of the upcoming season show plenty of clashes for the right Queen of the Iron Islands as she bids to claim her throne from her uncle Euron.

It’s 5/1 that LittleFinger himself, Petyr Baelish, gets his comeuppance before anyone else, while it’s 10/1 apiece for the Hound or the Mountain, with more suggestions that we’ll finally see Cleganebowl.

Who will rule the Iron Throne at the end of the season?

But for those who do make it through season seven, who can we expect to be sitting on the Iron Throne?

As 5/4 favourite, it looks like Cersei Lannister could be set to maintain her place, having infamously become Queen of the Seven Kingdoms at the end of season six.

But a gigantic fleet of ships, oh, and three dragons, it’s just 2/1 that Daenerys puts a Targaryen back on the famous chair heading into the final season.

It’s 4/1 Tyrion succeeds his older sister, while 5/1 says we move into the final season with a vacant throne up for grabs…

Who will win the Iron Throne?

Speaking of season eight, we’ve got odds on who ultimately wins the Iron Throne too.

And it’s the Mother of Dragons who leads the betting at 2/1.

But it’s Jon Snow at 12/5 who holds all the intrigue. Part Stark, part Targaryan, could he be the one to bring peace to Westeros?

Sansa is 9/1 to rule, while 10/1 says the increasingly murderous Arya becomes Queen.

And no, we hadn’t forgotten about the White Walkers, it’s 16/1 the show concludes with the Night King on the Iron Throne…
