They’re easily the busiest Premier League club so far this summer, and Everton’s spending spree shows no sign of letting up.

The Toffees have already spent over £70m on Jordan Pickford, Michael Keane, Davy Klaassen and Sandro Ramirez this summer.

And Ronald Koeman’s side are also reportedly in the latter stages of bringing Wayne Rooney back to Goodison Park from Manchester United.

Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud and Swansea City’s Gylfi Sigurdsson have also been heavily linked with a move to Merseyside.

But reports out of Portugal claim the Toffees are now looking to Benfica striker Raul Jimenez.

According to local outlet Record, Everton have offered £39m for the 26-year-old.

Liverpool and West Ham United have also been linked with the Mexican.

Jimenez has been with Benfica for two seasons, and netted a tidy 11 goals from 32 games last term.

He began his career with his native America, grabbing 36 goals from 96 league games to earn a move to Atletico Madrid in 2014.

The move to Spain may have been a bit too much too soon however, with Jimenez scoring just once in 27 appearances for the La Liga giants.

In truth he wasn’t given much of a chance under Diego Simeone in the Spanish capital, starting just four league games.

Handily, Benfica came calling after just one year to revitalise his career.

It remains to be seen whether Jimenez would be a replacement for Romelu Lukaku, but with talk of the Belgian’s exit going quiet in recent weeks, the Mexican may yet be another addition to a rapidly growing squad at Goodison.
