Burnley’s Assombalonga bid is latest hint at Gray exit

Sean Dyche, Premier League odds, Everton next manager odds

Having escaped relegation last season, Burnley are now hoping to establish themselves in Premier League mid-table – and they’re willing to spend to do so.

Sky Sports News claim the Clarets have made an £8m bid for Nottingham Forest hotshot Britt Assombalonga.

The 24-year-old has never experienced top-flight football, but has been scoring for fun during his time in the EFL.

That’s not something that will deter Burnley however.

They snapped up Andre Gray in 2015 before he had any Premier League experience, but nine goals last season proved he cut the mustard.

But given the Turf Moor outfit’s limited resource and efficient budget, Gray is set to make way for Assombalonga.

Indeed it’s believed Sean Dyche’s side may actually make a profit, with the sale of Gray set to yield up to £15m.

And our traders reckon the former Brentford ace is most likely to head to Everton.

It’s 6/4 Gray joins the big-spending Toffees this summer, with 5/2 on offer that he returns to the capital with West Ham United.

Those two sides dominate the market, with Southampton next up at 8/1, ahead of 9/1 chances Newcastle United.

Stoke City (10/1) and West Bromwich Albion (12/1) round out the betting.
