Zlatan Ibrahimovic to LA Galaxy? Tweet hints at MLS move

Published:

While it surprised more than a few that Manchester United weren’t extending Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s contract, the question now is where will the Swede go?

He may be 35-years-old, but that didn’t stop him netting 28 times in 40 appearances for the Red Devils, helping them to the Community Shield, the EFL Cup and the Europa League.

He’s long-been linked with a move to MLS, and a tweet last night provided the latest clue to Zlatan’s next stop.

And our traders make Zlatan 1/3 to call LA Galaxy his next home.

A move to America makes sense on several fronts. While the striker remains defiant that he can compete at the top level, time will eventually bring his career to an end.

Plus, he’s won everything there is to win in Europe, except the Champions League, and he’s unlikely to do that now.

Head to America though, and he’ll be the biggest fish in a big old pond.

But despite the odds, and the telling tweet, LA Galaxy do have competition.

AC Milan could use a marquee signing this summer, as their new Chinese owners look to restore the club to their glory days.

Zlatan has been with AC before of course, netting 56 goals in just 85 appearances between 2010 and 2012, winning Serie A along the way.

It’s 5/1 he returns to the San Siro outfit, with Malmo 9/1 to bring their favourite son back home.
