Sean Dyche is the clear favourite to take over at Crystal Palace, according to the latest odds.

The Burnley boss was in a two-horse race with Roy Hodgson for the Selhurst Park post vacated by Sam Allardyce last month.

But at 1/5, Dyche is now shorter than anyone has ever been for the position.

Hodgson is now out to 8/1, while Mauricio Pellegrino is a 5/1 shot for the role.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “This is huge news for both Crystal Palace and Burnley, and continued interest in Dyche from punters has seen him fall incredibly short in this market.

“As far as we’re concerned, it may well be a done deal.”

The news may be concerning to the Turf Moor faithful, with Dyche becoming the first manager to keep the Clarets in the Premier League season.

Dyche has been with the Lancashire outfit for almost five years, after a short spell in charge of Watford, in what was his first managerial role.
