Ribchester continues to be backed for Queen Anne at Royal Ascot

Ribchester is now just 8/11 from 10/11 for this year’s Queen Anne Stakes, following more sustained support this morning.

The Richard Fahey-trained charge is still proving popular ahead of the Group 1 contest, the first race of the meeting.

And punters with deep pockets are continuing to show their support for the Lockinge Stakes winner.

Newbury runner-up Lightning Spear is next best, albeit at odds of 7/1, while Al Shaqab-owned filly Qemah is available at 10s alongside last year’s Duke of Cambridge Stakes winner, Usherette.

The 2016 Summer Mile hero Mutakayyef is 12/1 while Aidan O’Brien’s Lockinge fourth Somehow is a 14/1 shot.

Nicola McGeady of Ladbrokes said: “Ribchester is the Royal Ascot banker as far as punters are concerned. We’ve been forced to cut his odds every couple of days, with support showing no signs of slowing down.”
