Portugal v Chile: Silva and Vidal offer best value in Semi-Final

We’re down to the final four in the Confederations Cup, as the champions of Europe face the kings of South America. It’s Portugal v Chile – and right now at least, it’s hard to separate the pair.

Both have been impressive – if imperfect – so far in the tournament. La Roja played superbly against Germany and Cameroon but failed to beat a very ordinary Australia side, while Portugal won two of their group games comfortably, but twice threw away a lead in their draw against Mexico.

With that in mind, we think the 2/1 on offer for a draw in 90 minutes looks the best call in the match betting, with Portugal 13/10 favourites and Chile out at 21/10.

However, we think there’s a safer bet in the form of Both Teams to Score at 10/11. Both of these sides have netted in each of their last seven games, so there’s every chance that’ll become eight in Kazan on Wednesday night.

But the best value of all? That looks to be in the goalscorer markets.

Portugal’s Andre Silva has scored eight times in his last 10 games for Selecao, with the 21-year-old recording the last goal of the match in three of those outings.

He’s 6/4 to add to his tally anytime against a Chile side who’ve managed just one clean sheet in their last five matches, while 6/1 says he’s the last goalscorer in this game.

Meanwhile, we’re tipping up an ambitious – but very possible – 16/1 shot for Juan Antonio Pizzi’s men.

That price is for midfield terrier Arturo Vidal to score twice or more. Having bagged a brace in four of his last 20 games for the national side, 16s looks a very generous price indeed for him to repeat that feat.
