Hodgson and Dyche in two-horse race for Crystal Palace post

There are a number of Premier League managerial jobs available right now, but as far as the Crystal Palace vacancy is concerned, there are just two names left in the hat.

We’ve been forced to make it just a two-horse race between Roy Hodgson and Sean Dyche for the Crystal Palace post after seeing money flood in for both bosses.

Hodgson had been as long as 5/1 on Tuesday morning to succeed Sam Allardyce at Selhust Park.

But punters have backed the former Liverpool and Fulham boss into favouritism at 6/5.

However, while the veteran gaffer looked to be running away at the head of the market, a flurry of bets on Dyche – who had been as big as 7/1 – have seen the Burnley man’s odds slashed to just 6/4.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Hodgson and Dyche look set to battle it out for the vacant Palace post and while the former is currently the most popular with punters, we’re seeing increased interest in the Burnley gaffer.”

Palace finished 14th last season after a late rally, thanks to wins over Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal.

The Eagles will be entering their fifth consecutive season in the top flight next term, their best run in the club’s history.
