England U21 v Germany U21: Expect goals as rivals meet in Tychy

Old foes meet once again as England face their German counterparts in the Semi-Final of the 2017 European Under-21 Championship on Tuesday night. And while it’s tough to call who’ll come out on top, viewers can expect an extremely entertaining contest.

Aidy Boothroyd’s men have found the net in 15 of their last 20 games, and that figure is the same for Stefan Kuntz’s side. And with two of the past three meetings between this side producing four or more goals, the 23/20 for Over 2.5 Goals here looks like generously priced.

However, we think the best value could be on a flurry of second-half goals. Four of Germany’s five strikes so far in this tournament have come after the interval, and the same for the Young Lions. So the 4/1 for 3+ Goals in the second period could pay out handsomely.

So, who are we tipping to be among the scorers?

For the Germans, talented midfielder-cum-winger Serge Gnabry looks well priced to net anytime at odds of 9/4, having registered in the opening group game against the Czech Republic – as well as scoring 11 times in 29 Bundesliga games for Werder Bremen last term.

As for Boothroyd’s side, we fancy Tammy Abraham to open his account in this tournament at 19/10.

One more niche bet we like the look of, and which we tipped up successfully ahead of England’s last game against Poland, is the Young Lions to score in the opening 10 minutes.

They’ve done just that in four of their last nine games, so we think you’d be mad to overlook the 10/1 on offer for England to repeat the feat in Tychy.

In the match betting, Germany are 11/8 favourites to win in 90 minutes, with England 21/10 shots and 11/5 on offer for this game to head into Extra Time.
