Chelsea and Man United hot on Juve’s heels in race for PSG ace

After six seasons as a Paris Saint-Germain player, Blaise Matuidi now seems set to wave goodbye to the Parc des Princes this summer. But his destination is far from clear-cut, with Juventus, Chelsea and Manchester United all shorter than 4/1 for the Frenchman’s signature.

The 30-year-old enjoyed a stellar campaign with PSG in 2016-17, though Unai Emery’s side missed out on the Ligue 1 title for the first time in five seasons, as well as exiting the Champions League in embarrassing fashion against Barcelona.

And our odds-changers think that will be the trigger for him to exit this summer.

Juve are currently slight favourites for his signature at odds of 2/1, with the club still looking to adequately replace midfield lynchpin Paul Pogba, who left for Man United last summer.

Talking of the Red Devils, they’ve not been hesitant to splash the cash already this summer, having shelled out over £30m for Victor Lindelof from Benfica. They’re 7/2 for his signature, with Juve believed to be his preferred destination.

In fact, while they are in the running for the former Troyes man’s signature, United aren’t even the most likely Premier League club to sign Matuidi. That honour goes to Mourinho’s former club, Chelsea.

There’s 3/1 on offer for the Blues to add the Toulouse native to their ranks. With the West London outfit gearing up for Champions League football this term, it certainly makes sense to add a player who’s featured in the knockouts in each of the past five seasons.

Meanwhile, there’s a pair of dark horses who could still pip that trio to Matuidi’s signature, with Real Madrid 7/1 shots, and Bayern Munich 9/1 to add the Euro 2016 Finalist to their ranks.
