Betting suspended on Juve ace to Man City; Spurs star 1/5 to join

The coming week looks sure to spell delight for Manchester City fans, with our traders all-but-certain that the club will be announcing two new signings, in the form of Juventus’ Dani Alves and Tottenham Hotspur’s Kyle Walker.

In fact, our odds-crunchers are so sure that the 34-year-old is off to the Etihad this summer that they’ve suspended betting on a deal taking place.

While Alves is in the twilight of his career, there’s no doubt he’d add huge experience to the ranks – especially in Europe, having won the Champions League three times as a Barcelona player…two of those under Guardiola.

As for Walker, his odds of a move to Manchester have continued to tumble in recent months, and he now looks nailed-on to join the Citizens this summer, at odds of 1/5.

With 198 Premier League games under his belt, the 27-year-old will also add pedigree to the Sky Blues’ backline. Though after probably the best season of his career in 2016-17, it’s Walker’s future, not his past, which will most excite City fans.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Pep Guardiola is clearly keen on adding to his ranks – whatever the cost, and with an Alves announcement seemingly imminent, it won’t be long before Walker follows him to the North-West.”
