Watford odds-on to snap up defensive rock from Genk

Watford may be without a manager since parting company with Walter Mazzarri, but that hasn’t stopped the Hornets from pursuing transfer targets, with the club odds-on to secure the services of Genk defender Omar Colley.
The giant Gambian moved to Belgium from Swedish outfit Djurgardens IF last summer, and greatly impressed in his first campaign, featuring 50 times for De Smurfen in 2016-17.
Fantastic in the air, strong in the tackle and with a knack for chipping in with key goals – including four during his first year at Genk.
And it’s no coincidence his arrival was followed by the club recording an impressive third-placed finish in the Belgian top-flight, as well as a run to the Europa League Quarter-Finals.
However, he looks set for pastures new, with odds of 8/11 for the 24-year-old to make Vicarage Road his next home.
That move could well take place during the coming months, with even money for the Gambia captain to join Watford this summer.
Speaking of which, Colley also offers leadership – something the Hornets were visibly lacking for much of the past season.
And they could be in even more need of an organiser and talisman should current captain Troy Deeney complete a much-discussed move to West Bromwich Albion.
