Stoke City v Arsenal: Back Potters to scupper Gunners’ top 4 hopes

Published:

Arsenal head to Stoke City with their hopes of a top-four finish still intact. But we think those dreams will be in tatters once the final whistle blows in Staffordshire.

Arsene Wenger’s men have failed to win on any of their last six visits to the Potteries, losing on three of those occasions.

The North London club’s record on the road of late also fails to inspire much confidence in an away win, with the Gunners losing five of their last seven away Premier League games.

And the hosts look well priced to take at least a point on Saturday, with 16/5 for a Potters win, while Arsenal are 7/10 for victory and the draw priced up at 29/10.

Meanwhile, for those looking to hedge their bets, the Double Chance on Stoke or Draw at Evens could prove a savvy selection.

Elsewhere, while it might not be the most exciting bet in the world, the No on Both Teams to Score at 13/10 should be backed.

We haven’t seen both sides register in any of Arsenal’s last four games, while only four of the Potters’ last 13 matches have seen both teams register.

So, we’re unlikely to see goals at both ends, but there’s a goalscorer on each side who looks worth a flutter.

Peter Crouch has scored eight times against Arsenal during his career, and with the Macclesfield-born beanpole enjoying a resurgence this season, the 5/2 for him to net anytime could prove popular.

As for the Gunners, the man most likely to make a difference is Alexis Sanchez. He’s netted 16 times on his travels this term, and there’s 19/20 on offer for him to register anytime.
