Ribchester now clear favourite for Queen Anne glory at Royal Ascot
Published:Lockinge Stakes hero Ribchester has been cut for this year’s Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot following his victory at Newbury.
The Richard Fahey-trained colt is now 9/4 (from 3/1) to follow-up his most recent Group 1 success when he returns to Berkshire in June.
Ribchester set the pace and made all in good style yesterday, coming home three and three-quarter lengths in front of the gallant Lightning Spear.
Old sparring partner Galileo Gold could only manage fifth and and is 7/1 to turn the tables on his rival in the Queen Anne.
The aforementioned Lightning Spear is a 10/1 shot alongside the Al Shaqab-owned Qemah.
Godolphin mare Usherette is available at 12/1 with her Prix du Muguet conqueror and fellow Andre Fabre-trained charge Jimmy Two Times the same price.
Nicola McGeady of Ladbrokes said: “We were really impressed by Ribchester’s performance and already we are seeing ante-post support ahead of the Queen Anne next month.”
