Rangers v Hearts: Gers’ good value to beat stuttering Jam Tarts

Published:

The end of the season is fast approaching, and though Rangers are secure in third in the Ladbrokes Premiership, they’ll be out to build momentum for next term.

And they’re well-set to pick up three points when they take on Hearts in the Saturday lunchtime game.

We make the Gers 4/5 favourites, with Ian Cathro’s visitors out at 16/5 and the draw 12/5.

And we reckon there’s good value in backing a home win here.

Hearts have been in dismal form of late, winning just two of their last 11 games – and both of those victories came at Tynecastle too.

And their form on the road is similarly poor. The Edinburgh outfit have won just two of their last 14 away from home –both against struggling Motherwell.

Of equal concern for Cathro will be the fact that his side have failed to score in five of their last six away games.

And with Rangers losing just one of their last nine league fixtures, everything points to a win for Pedro Caixinha’s side.

It may well be worth considering a Rangers win -1 at 23/10, and given Hearts’ goal-shy ways of late, the No on Both Teams to Score is 23/20.

The hosts to win and over 2.5 goals also looks appealing at 9/5.

Joe Garner leads the first goalscorer betting at 9/2, ahead of the evergreen Kenny Miller at 5/1.

And with the latter netting four times in his last four games, we’re backing the 37-year-old to break the deadlock.
