Next season’s Prem winner priced up…and Chelsea aren’t favourites
Last night saw Chelsea lift the Premier League title for the fifth time since 2005, following Michy Batshuayi’s winner at West Bromwich Albion.
In the wake of the Blues’ clincher, our trading team have been busy pricing up next season’s Prem winner. However, it’s not the West London club who are market favourites, but Manchester City.
The Citizens are just 9/4 to win the title next season. And while that price might surprise some, there is reason to believe they could capture the league crown.
Pep Guardiola now has a year’s experience in English football under his belt, and his side are finishing this campaign strongly, with 14 points from their last six games.
And as we know, the Spaniard won’t be short of a bit of spending money this summer.
As for Chelsea, there’s 11/4 on offer for Antonio Conte to win a fifth league title in five seasons at club level – having guided Juventus to three successive Serie A triumphs before rocking up in SW6.
Manchester United are 10/3 third-favourites, while Tottenham are 7/1 to improve on back-to-back top-four finishes by lifting their first league title since 1961.
Arsenal and Liverpool follow at 9/1 apiece, before a huge gap in the market, with Everton next in the running at 66/1.
2015 champions Leicester City are 150/1 shots, as are Southampton, while Brighton & Hove Albion are currently rank outsiders all the way out at 1000/1.
