Manchester City v West Brom: Baggies pose little threat to Pep’s men

Published:

Odds of 1/33 suggest Manchester City already have one foot in next season’s Champions League, but until they’re 100% confirmed, you can bet Pep Guardiola won’t rest easy.

Four points from their remaining two games will see them over the line, and the Citizens are well-poised to pick up three of them when West Bromwich Albion visit the Etihad.

City go into this clash as 2/15 favourites, with the Baggies out at 18/1.

And while the odds themselves show how heavily fancied the hosts are, we should also note that West Brom have lost five of their last six games, picking up just one point in that spell.

They’ve failed to score in six of their last seven too, so we like No in Both Teams to Score at 4/6, and Man City to win to nil at 4/5.

The Baggies have endured difficult times at the Etihad as well, losing each of their last seven visits, conceding 20 goals.

It’s 2/5 on City to win -1, but the 21/20 on -2 may appeal more.

We can expect Gabriel Jesus to be handed another start, and his penalty in the Saturday win over Leicester took his tally to five goals in eight Premier League appearances.

The Brazilian is 5/2 to break the deadlock and 1/2 anytime.

But while Jesus has never faced West Brom before, they’re a club Sergio Aguero knows how to get the better of.

The Argentine ace boasts seven goals in nine meetings with the Baggies, and is 12/5 to score first and 1/2 to net anytime.
