Leicester ace odds-on for summer exit with Liverpool favourites

Published:

There’s unrest at Leicester City right now, with Riyad Mahrez unhappily skulking off the field after being substituted against West Bromwich Albion. And that could be his final act in a Foxes shirt, with odds of 1/2 for him to exit the East Midlands this summer.

The 26-year-old starred in the club’s 5000/1 Premier League triumph last season, but with Leicester enduring mid-table mediocrity this term, it’s believed the winger wants to leave to further his career.

And the odds suggest he could look to Liverpool to achieve that step.

The Merseyside giants are 5/2 to lure the former Le Havre man to Anfield. And that price could fall further if the Reds secure Champions League football for next season.

Tottenham are second in the betting at 4/1, with North London rivals Arsenal priced up at 5s.

Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain are the most likely destination if he exits the Prem, with 6/1 for a switch to the Parc des Princes.

They’re followed by a trio of Barcelona, Chelsea and Manchester City – all 10/1 – while Manchester United (12/1) and Real Madrid (14/1) closing out the betting.

A Ladbrokes spokesperson: “It seems Mahrez is set to walk out on Shakespeare and Leicester this summer, with the odds suggesting his next act could take place at Anfield.”

Liverpool have a chance to boost their UCL chances on Sunday, with 4/7 on offer for the Reds to beat Southampton at Anfield.
