How Twitter reacted to Churchill winning the 2000 Guineas
Published:Champion two-year-old Churchill fully justified favouritism to land a record-breaking eighth 2000 Guineas for trainer Aidan O’Brien this afternoon.
The 6/4 jolly went on to score by a length from Barney Roy with French raider Al Wukair filling out the places.
Following his latest Classic victory, Churchill’s jockey Ryan Moore told ITV Racing’s Rishi Persad: “When I saw him in the paddock I was happy and when I got on him i was even happier. It feels like when you ask him he gives a bit more.”
And while the bookies were left howling, plenty of punters and racing fans celebrated Churchill’s triumph.
Here’s the best of the reaction…
The Master of Ballydoyle did it again…

No surprise to see this type of banter.
Never in the field of human conflict have I enjoyed a winner more than Churchill in 2000 Guineas ?

Our own odds-compilers don’t need reminding of this.

Hmm, agree?
@jackh1092 @Steven__1991 Everything went right for Churchill. Barney nearly fell over and didn’t get a clear run. Best horse lost.

Hard to argue with this. Lancaster Bomber certainly played his part.
What a beautifully choreographed race by the Aidan O’Brien team, right from the break, set it up perfectly. #Churchill

Our Trading department aren’t sure 1m4f will suit Churchill.
Most are slashing Churchill’s Derby price, but Ladbrokes hold firm at 5/1.
Snap that price up while it lasts!

Francesca Cumani agrees.
“You’d imagine keeping him at a mile or shorter would make more sense” – @francescacumani has doubts Churchill will get the Derby trip pic.twitter.com/QhCcGNpL7t
