Farron 1/2 to lose Lib Dem leadership; Swinson favourite for job

The latest odds this morning show that Liberal Democrat leader Tim Farron is 3/1 to lose his seat of Westmorland and Lonsdale. And that’s seen odds of the 46-year-old being replaced as party head after the general election cut to just 1/2.
Jo Swinson – the East Dumbartonshire candidate – is favourite to replace Farron as leader, at odds of 3/1.
Former Minister of State for Care and Support Norman Hunt follows in the betting at 4/1, with Alistair Carmichael and Vince Cable both priced up at 10/1.
The betting is rounded out by Ed Davey at 12s.
Matthew Shaddick, Head of Political Betting at Ladbrokes said: “Most punters don’t have much hope for Tim Farron or the Lib Dems. Jo Swinson is in the lead as other leading lights like Norman Lamb are now odds-against to hold onto their own seats.”
