Celtic v Hearts: Hoops will want to break record in style on final day

| 20.05.2017

For the umpteenth time this season, Celtic will head into a Ladbrokes Premiership game as the huge odds-on favourites to take all three points.

This time it’s Hearts who’ll be heading to Parkhead, and at 12/1, it’s hard to see how Ian Cathro’s men can come out on top.

Especially when you consider what is at stake for the hosts.

Just a point would be enough to make this a record-breaking season for the Hoops, who would beat Martin O’Neill’s 2001-02 points tally which stood at 103 – the same as what Brendan Rodgers’ side are currently on.

So Celtic need a win or a draw to achieve that feat, and our traders make it just 1/80 for the home side NOT to lose this one. In other words, the record is as good as theirs…

This pair have already met twice in 2017, with Celtic scoring nine goals across those fixtures without reply from the Jam Tarts.

With that in mind, the best value could be in backing either Celtic -3 (15/4) or Celtic to win to nil (11/10). After all, they’ll want to go out with a bang.

As for scorers, it’s hard to look past Scott Sinclair and the in-form Leigh Griffiths.

Between them, they’ve scored 10 goals in Celtic’s last nine games in all competitions, and the latter is 14/5 to open the scoring for the second game in a row.

Sinclair, meanwhile, is 5/6 to add to his 21 league goals this season, and that looks like cracking value considering he’s already scored six against this Hearts side this season.
