There’s a big old summer ahead for Arsenal, and the latest reports claim the Gunners have begun negotiations over a move for Belgium’s top scorer.

According to the latest reports, Arsenal have started talks with Henry Onyekuru, who is firing in the goals for KAS Eupen.

The 19-year-old netted a whopping 24 times in all competitions, including ten in ten during the season-concluding play-offs.

He’s the joint-top scorer in this season’s Jupiler League with 22, and it’s believed Arsenal have been suitably impressed to lay out the £6.8m required to activate Onyekuru’s release clause.

West Ham have also been linked with a move, but it’s claimed that the striker himself wishes to join the Gunners.

Onyekuru is blessed with great pace, skill and composure, so the Gunners will be hoping they’ve lucked in to the next big thing.

Goalscorers in Belgium have had a habit of coming good in the Premier League too with Romelu Lukaku and Christian Benteke making successful moves in recent years.

And with nine assists this season, the Nigerian is very much a team player.

The Gunners will be keen to ease the burden on Alexis Sanchez who either scored or assisted a sizeable 42% of Arsenal’s Premier League goals this term.

Should the deal go ahead, then it could spell the end for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s time at the Emirates, with Liverpool reportedly keen on snapping up the England international.
