Arsenal back in race for top four & offer cracking value for punters

Arsenal’s rollercoaster season took yet another turn this afternoon as Arsene Wenger’s men fought hard to secure a 2-0 victory over bitter rivals Manchester United.
Granted, the visitors fielded a weakened side at the Emirates, but take nothing away from the Gunners, who headed into this game off the back of a dreadful performance last time out away at Tottenham Hotspur.
Wenger’s men now sit in fifth place – ahead of the Red Devils with a game in hand. That’s left them six points off the Champions League spots, although they’ve played two games fewer than Liverpool, who are seven points clear of the North London outfit.
Whichever way you look at it, the run-in for the top four will be extremely close.
The league may well be won by the time the week is over, but there’s plenty to play for behind leaders Chelsea.
As things stand, Arsenal are now 4/1 to end the season in that leading quartet, having been 9/1 shots prior to kick-off this weekend.
The Gunners have four games still to play this season against Southampton, Stoke, Sunderland and Everton respectively.
It’s a big ask, but maximum points from those games gives them a great chance of breaking into that top four.
Especially when you consider United still have to play Tottenham Hotspur, while Man City must still come up against in-form Leicester City (who, lest we forget, are reigning Premier League champions).
As for Liverpool, they’ll meet West Ham United next, who’ll be buzzing after last weekend’s victory over Spurs. Couple that with the fact that the Reds have dropped five points in their last three games and the table makes for some interesting reading.
On top of all of that, the Gunners still have an Emirates FA Cup final to contend. Wenger’s men are 11/1 to win that competition AND secure a top four finish.
