New Zealand are huge odds-on favourites to win this summer’s 2017 British and Irish Lions Tour series following Warren Gatland’s squad announcement.

The Lions coach named his 41-man team this afternoon with Sam Warburton being made captain and Dylan Hartley’s omission the big headlines.

Gatland’s squad is comprised of 16 England players, 12 from Wales, 11 from Ireland and two from Scotland.

New Zealand have long been fancied to win on home turf but we’ve shortened them up again, with their odds falling from 2/9 to just 1/5.

The British and Irish Lions were 11/4 to follow-up their 2013 series victory in Australia but they’ve since drifted to 7/2 with a Drawn Series a 33/1 shot.

Elsewhere, it’s even-money for New Zealand to triumph 3-0 with 20/1 on offer for the same scoreline in favour of the raiding party.

The Lions will play three Tests against the All Blacks with the tour running from 3 June to 8 July.
