Natalie Dormer’s odds slashed for Doctor Who role

| 12.04.2017

Natalie Dormer has been backed to sensationally swap Game of Thrones for Doctor Who.

In just a few days the former Game of Thrones actress has seen her odds of entering the Tardis slashed into 4/1, making her the new second-favourite having previously been rated as a 33/1 outsider.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge remains the even money front runner, however if the support keeps coming in for Dormer it won’t be long before her price tumbles further.

The bookies now rate it odds-on at 1/3 that the next Doctor is female, breaking history in the process.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “The gamble on Dormer has gathered significant pace in the last few days, and all the momentum suggests she could well displace Waller-Bridge as the favourite.”

She added: “Four out of the top five names in the betting are female actresses, which paints a pretty clear picture as to the gender Whovians would like as their next Doctor.”
