Man United 4/1 to land Ibrahimovic replacement this summer

Published:

A deal looked to have been in place a few months ago for Zlatan Ibrahimovic to spend another year at Manchester United, but things have gone pretty quiet of late.

And with fans growing increasingly concerned, people are asking one thing: who’ll replace him if he leaves?

Step forward, Robert Lewandowski.

The Bayern Munich man has been linked with a move away from the Bundesliga for several years now, after making the switch from Borussia Dortmund to Bayern Munich back in 2014.

The Poland international has certainly proved himself in Germany with 145 league goals to his name in seven seasons. And at 28-years-old it’s perhaps time for him to move on and test his mettle in another of Europe’s top leagues.

Of course, that opens the door for a potential big money move to Real Madrid, who are 7/2 favourites to be his next port of call.

But were Ibrahimovic to leave Old Trafford this summer, it’s likely United would do anything in their power to secure the services of another world-class striker.

And they’d struggle to find many better than Lewandowski.

As things stand, the Red Devils are 4/1 to bring the forward to the Premier League, but we’re expecting those odds to change drastically should Ibra make a decision on his future.

Meanwhile, their neighbours across the city are just behind in the betting at 5/1.

That could also prove to be a tempting price for the tactical punter, given that Pep Guardiola has worked with Lewandowski at Bayern, where he arguably got the best out of him.

And with Sergio Aguero’s future still very much up in the air, it wouldn’t be a huge surprise to see Manchester City make a move for the Bundesliga top scorer this summer.

As things stand though we’d be leaning towards a deal being struck between Lewandowski and Man United, and the thought of him playing in front of the likes of Juan Mata and Paul Pogba is simply frightening.
